New BBM for Android V.200.0.138 Now Relase Beta
The beta is only available to a select group of Android users for now, so Android folks will need to remain patient while BlackBerry works out any bugs. Fingers crossed it has no launch mishaps like BBM had when it first launched for Android. That was a nightmare for them.
Even though the Canadian company has promised that it will bring lots of new features on Android and iOS platforms this year, only a few days have passed from 2014 and BlackBerry has already released a new version of BBM for Android.
BerryReview reports that a new beta version of BBM for Android is now available for download via Beta Zone, which brings some popular features that are only available in the BlackBerry application. It appears that BlackBerry has started the rollout of BBM for Android 200.0.0.138, which reportedly adds both BBM Channels and BBM Voice features to the Android platform.
According to CrackBerry, BlackBerry has released an updated beta version of BBM for Android, which features a nice changelog that users should all enjoy. For starters, it is reported that the update brings a ton of new emoticons to use, improved file sharing, BBM Channels, and more importantly, BBM Voice. With BBM Voice, BBM users can call each other for free over a WiFi network, a feature that we were hoping an update to Google’s Hangouts app for Android would include, but still has yet to arrive.
As reference, the Hangouts app on iOS has had Google Voice and calling integration for months now. In addition, the update is said to include more than 100 new emoticons, along with increased BBM Group limits. There’s no timeframe for the release of this new version of BBM for Android to the general public, but we suspect that it might arrive within the next few days.
